Bewitching Holiday Windows

This is the time of year I wish I lived in New York. Last year, I stood in the pouring rain to take pictures of Bergdorf Goodman's holiday window display.
This year's theme is The Seasons On Scene.

Oh my, the detail of the dress.

I'm reminded of a Sofia Coppola scene - but whitewashed.
I know it's chic to do everything in white, but can I admit I wouldn't stand in the rain for these photos?
Last year I was breathless admiring the Tony Duquette-inspired display based on the earth's elements.

Is the recession making displays more dour? Give me color, even if it isn't expensive! Tony was masterful at taking cheap materials and whipping them into opulence.

The photos are borrowed from: Habitually Chic & Paris Breakfasts.

50's Fashion

50's shapes are all over the place, from Bottega Veneta to Gucci & Pucci. Roger Deckker shot these photos for the Bergdorf Goodman holiday/resort catalog.... & wow. Es magnifico!

I am obsessed with 50's & 60's style. I have a Tivo season pass for old Twilight Zone episodes. I can't get over the simple yet timeless styling of the interiors.

Roger Deckker's photography has a wicked moody feel. Visit his website for his portfolio.

Back from NY!

What a whirlwind. So much to write about! I just flew in last night, so I'll start slowly.
Let's start with Bergdorf Goodman's holiday windows. That store is such a source of beautiful visual inspiration. It's kind of like Barney's, but with so much more. Why don't we have it in LA?
I snapped these photos quickly in the rain, & a quick google search revealed why I was so drawn to them. Inspired by Tony Duquette!

Click here for more on Bergdorf Goodman's site.
I snapped a few shots of Kelly Wearstler's wares. It's in a tiny cubby-sized space on the 7th floor.
The gold trinkets start around $250 and go up quickly from there.

More to come! :)
